Evolution of Movement: Final Report

چکیده
The present project aims to alleviate a significant deficiency of conventional animation techniques: the difficulty of modelling realistic movement. We employ a genetic algorithm and a physical simulation library to evolve movement strategies in simple creatures, e.g., blocks with rocket engines. The creatures evolved exhibit complex behaviors, such as remaining in the general vicinity of the target and hitting but overshooting the target, though none of them have achieved the final goal of coming to a halt at the target.
